Welcome to the Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station and Second Chance Re-Use Shop web site.

MPWTS is located at 126 Mornington Road, Mornington, Tasmania. We reflect modern thinking in waste management, providing the residents of Clarence and surrounding municipalities with positive alternatives to dispose of their solid waste.

MPWTS operates under a long term contract with Clarence City Council.  Our objective is to provide a high standard facility for all customers to practice waste reduction in an efficient, safe, compliant and comfortable environment.



At Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station we collect and sort waste for re-use, reprocessing and recycling. 

Our aim is to have a positive impact on the environment by diverting waste destined for landfill.

7:30am to 5pm weekdays
8:30am to 4pm weekends and public holidays

Second Chance Re-Use Shop
9am to 5pm weekdays
9am to 4pm weekends and public holidays

Closed Christmas Day, Good Friday, ANZAC Day (shop only)–other days by notification.

Please note that customers enter the site at their own risk.
For the safety of customers the site may be closed with limited notice due to adverse weather conditions (such as excessive wind gusts). Please contact the weighbridge on 6282 3200 if confirmation about closure is required.

Winner of Environmental Sustainability Award

MPWTS has been awarded The Clarence Business Excellence Award for Environmental Sustainability.
This Award is in recognition of innovative practices such as the introduction of a Mobile Recycling Facility (MRF) to increase diversion of materials away from landfill and our community education program where we offer free school tours of the waste transfer station, where students can learn how to contribute to environmentally sustainable recycling practices.
